Farmhouse Kitchen

Some people say the “farmhouse style” is on the way out. I have to disagree. I think a classic, more modern approach to a farmhouse style home is here to stay! There’s a reason it’s been around for centuries!

I am honored to be partnering with Carpet One to showcase two of their trending flooring options and how I would incorporate each into a beautiful farmhouse kitchen! Throughout this blog post, I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite farmhouse kitchens. The designer/source will be linked below each photo for you to check out more!

The first sample I am going to feature is this classic hardwood style called Monterey Heights in the color Nature Trail. Hardwood will never go out of demand. Many home owners install hardwood to keep their resale value high because so many people value this traditional flooring option.

The Monterey Heights collection by Carpet one features a high quality engineered hardwood that comes in 10 colors. Engineered hardwood is made of 3 - 5 layers laminated together with grains running at different angles. While engineered hardwood looks like solid hardwood, it is actually more structurally stable and can be used anywhere, even in spaces where moisture may be an issue.

I created the mood board below around this gorgeous hardwood. With the floor being on the darker side, I wanted to keep the cabinets and tile light and bright. This is a very traditional kitchen theme that will last the test of time! The Benjamin Moore paint sample in this mood board is Crushing Green.

When we were building, the flooring was the first thing we picked out. It is such a big design element of a home. It’s important to love it for that reason and it’s not something you will want to replace in a few years such as changing the wall paint color.

She Gave It a Go

The next flooring sample I am featuring is this modern Luxury Vinyl collection named Charleston Place in the color Windham. Vinyl flooring has been a popular choice for the past several years for many reasons. The textured graining gives the look of traditional hardwood but at a lower cost point and added durability.

This gorgeous, light colored flooring instantly reminded me of a more coastal farmhouse kitchen. I love mixing in classic Farmhouse elements like shiplap, shaker cabinets, and subway tile with costal colors and textures. Here are some inspiration photos for a coastal farmhouse kitchen that inspired this mood board.

My kitchen leans toward the Coastal Farmhouse style so I was very excited about creating the mood board below around the Charleston Place flooring. The Benjamin Moore paint color I choose for this design is White Dove.

This was such a fun project to partner with Carpet One on. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you so much for reading!
